General Safety
Shop rules, emergency stops, and PPE before a tool comes off the wall. Read this before the quiz.
Objective: Earn shop clearance before you enter the build area. Confidence is not a substitute for the sign-off.
Safety is the first credential, not a packet you skim on the way to any machine. Team 2064 will meet you at your experience level. That includes a first time on a hand tool and a student who already uses one at home. It does not include skipping the quiz because you have used the tool before.
Inclusion here means we train you. It does not mean the group looks away while someone learns the bandsaw by trial.
Passing this module lets you be in the shop under the general rules. It does not sign you off on the CNC, the lathe, the mill, or enabling the robot. Those are later pathway sign-offs. Phase 1 safety is the ticket into the room.
FIRST’s fabrication course is the same kind of limit. It teaches common tools and shop and pit habits. Finishing it does not clear you to run a machine in this room.
